The Agentic AI Technology Era
Agentic AI is a new dimension of digital transformation: we now solve problems with AI-driven autonomous processes that interpret intent, retrieve context, select a reasoning model, plan across steps, and take actions that change systems of record and real-world events.
A New Category: Agentic AI Security
Traditional software and network security foundations remain essential, but autonomy introduces a critical new requirement: securing agentic AI judgment in autonomous decision-making and state-changing actions.
Because agentic AI workflows are iterative and stateful, trust must be enforced continuously. A compromised instruction, poisoned retrieval, or unsafe tool call does not remain localized; it propagates forward through planning and execution, and then feeds back into the next cycle as a new world state. Autonomous agents constitute a distinct security and governance problem, with emphasis on tool-use risk, policy enforcement, and evidence generation.
Governing 5 Agentic Trust Domains
WedgeSecure Agent implements the policy decision layer as a collection of agentic AI security function microservices for five essential trust domains:
- Prompt Intent Control for instruction integrity preventing direct and indirect prompt injection;
- Context Drift Control for detecting persuasion attacks within an evolving workflow;
- Model Trust assessment for model reasoning trust and routing governance;
- Content Safety Control for content safety and regulated-data compliance classification;
- Tool Usage for authentication, authorization, delegated authority, and provenance for tool invocation and actions.
How WedgeSecure Agent Works
WedgeSecure Agent is the sovereign security layer that makes agentic AI systems safe to operate by bringing zero-trust enforcement to every step an agent takes. From reasoning to action, it decides in real time whether each consequential move can proceed, and logs every decision for compliance and accountability.
Each WedgeSecure Agent API call from an agentic AI application returns a Decision Bundle with three parts: (1) decision (allow, deny, restrict, step-up), (2) constraints (what is allowed and under what limits: scope, targets, parameters, budgets), and (3) evidence (policy IDs, scores, matched conditions, timestamps, model/tool identifiers, and rationale).
Applications and enforcement points consume the decision and constraints, while the evidence record feeds audit, monitoring, and compliance reporting.
Integration With Agentic Harnesses
WedgeSecure Agent integrates with standard agent harnesses using adapters that attach to LangChain, LangGraph, Nvidia NeMo Agent Toolkit, CrewAI, the OpenAI and Anthropic SDKs, and custom stacks.
Sovereign Deployment
WedgeSecure Agent is delivered in containers and can be deployed anywhere from cloud to extreme edge. Instead of one public cloud universal interception point, decisions and evidence can be enforced in sovereign locations depending on how the agentic AI application is built and deployed.
A distinctive capability of WedgeSecure Agent is that it can be deployed in sovereign edge networks on CPU-only hardware platforms; it can run on Intel Xeon servers with Advanced Matrix Extensions (AMX) for CPU-native inference; no GPU is required. A reference appliance, the Advantech AES-211E, packages the full stack for sovereign-edge deployment.
Core Technologies
WedgeSecure Agent’s capabilities are enabled by several core, patent-pending technologies:
- Unified Semantic Core – the Unified Semantic Core is a fine-tuned LLM substrate that provides the semantic-reasoning foundation for WedgeSecure Agent across the 5 agentic trust domains. It is developed by the WedgeSecure Nucleator, a machine learning/fine-tuning pipeline, to fine-tune a set of best-of-breed open-weight base LLM models. Wedge chooses these base models carefully so that the resulting WedgeSecure-USC achieves high detection performance while remaining able to run entirely within a sovereign-edge envelope.
- StandingWave – StandingWave is an inference-state reuse technique to enable high-performance and low-latency. Multi-domain semantic security creates an inference-efficiency challenge. A single agentic turn may require several semantic checks against the same or related content: intent classification, context governance, output safety, and sometimes additional policy interpretation. StandingWave enables real-time performance in this multi-domain setting.
- CausalMap – builds a progressive view of an agentic AI workflow as it executes and determines if a proposed next step or action follows from the user’s original intent. It detects trajectory drift under the influence of an instruction injected in retrieved content, and other multi-turn agent judgment manipulation.
