Three Steps to BeSecureStep 2: Test your Desktop Security
Go to http://www.eicar.org/anti_virus_test_file.htm. In the area marked “Download area using the standard protocol http??, click on the second file called eicar.com.txt.
If you see this window open, both your network protection and your desktop anti-virus protection have failed to identify the signature of attack. By this point your businesses primary lines of defence have failed. It’s important to remember that in either of these two tests, if your desktop anti-virus detected the malicious content, it is too late; the files already exist on your desktop.
