However, with HANS Wedge Networks provides a failover method to protect their end users.

High Availability Network Stack Benefits

With HA Network Stack, a WedgeOS based security device can be deployed in both router mode and bridge mode and offers the following benefits:

  • High reliability of network connectivity: Rapid failover response time means no interruption to your network applications
  • High reliability of DCI services: The standby device can provide the required devices immediately to provide the highest SLA of the DCI services
  • Minimum management overhead: WedgeOS provides an advanced synchronization mechanism for the DCI devices within a HA cluster to ensure any configuration to one device in the cluster will automatically propagate to the other devices drastically reducing overhead
  • Versatile HA configuration options to suit any networks

High Availability ("HA") and Load Balancing ("LB") Configuration Options

WedgeOS based devices support various HA and LB options including:

  • RSTP based bridge failover with complete MAC/VLAN transparency; or RSVP based HA
  • WCCP based HA and LB
  • ICAP based HA and LB for web traffic
  • Easy integration with the HA and LB configurations of Brocade, Radware, F5, etc.
