Calgary, Alberta - Wedge Networks, provider of network-based Web and email security solutions, recently upgraded the firmware used in their BeSecure appliances to version 3.1.6. The new firmware version features necessary modifications and enhancements including the following:

Email Keyword Scanning
In addition to its web keyword deep scanning ability, BeSecure running the new firmware allows for keyword detection and blocking for email traffic. This addition makes BeSecure the first security solution to support Data Loss Prevention for all application communication protocols.

Secure Computing’s SmartFilter Integration
Leveraging on Wedge Networks’ fastest Network Data Processing engine, this new feature of BeSecure brings Web filtering into the enterprise and service provider market by offering the industry's fastest Webfilter appliance, with no visible latency. Service providers and enterprise BeSecure users are able to now monitor, model, and enforce Web usage policies.

ICAP Support
The decision to provide ICAP (Internet Content Adaptation Protocol) support to its users, further demonstrates Wedge Network's commitment to making its fastest, best breed network content processing ability readily pluggable to customer’s existing networks.
