Leader in Network-level Web Security Releases the Stealth Routing Innovation for Transparency and Network Traffic Manipulation
CALGARY, AB. June 25, 2009 – Wedge Networks Inc. (“Wedge”), a leader in high performance network-based web security solutions, announced today another breakthrough to its award-winning BeSecure Web Gateway appliance. The new Stealth Routing feature enables transparent traffic movement from source to destination without the overhead of managing routing configuration of enterprise and service provider networks – an essential feature for implementation and management of secure Web gateway solutions.
“Strengthening defenses against malware attacks is a critical requirement for our customers and channels,” said Dr. Hongwen Zhang, President and CEO of Wedge Networks. “As a response to deployment issues due to complex network topologies, Wedge Networks has introduced Stealth Routing into the BeSecure appliance, allowing simple deployment in any network configuration. This innovation is a primary example of our commitment to meeting the growing security needs of our channels and customers; and puts Wedge in a unique position to offer a network security appliance that is easy to deploy and adaptable to the constantly evolving network architecture of today’s enterprises and service providers.”
The Stealth Routing feature uses an innovative network traffic manipulation technique that allows BeSecure to:
- Service network traffic unaltered, regardless of the underlying and ever-changing network virtualization and topology;
- Significantly reduce deployment and maintenance time and costs by adapting to evolving network architectures and omitting the need to reengineer a system or reconfigure protocols; and.
- Offer better network utilization and security without requiring transmission of dynamic routing protocol packets.
Through the Stealth Routing feature, BeSecure implements IP and MAC/VLAN address transparency to alleviate disruption to business and network management systems, while providing inline, deep content security inspection and enforcement. As a result, it is high performance, accurate, and easily adapts to an enterprise or service provider’s constantly changing network.
The feedback from piloting customers indicates a significant drop of installation time and zero management overhead when the networks are reconfigured.
The Stealth Routing feature is currently available as a one-click firmware update to new and existing customers. It is also backward compatible with the existing configurations to ensure minimal impact to present customers.
